Dr. Carol Chambers is a forensic psychologist with experience in civil and criminal cases. She has performed over 3,000 psychological evaluations. She has served institutions such as California Department of Corrections (CDCR), Veteran’s Affairs (VA), California Department of Rehabilitation, and the Social Security Administration. She is a court-appointed psychological expert on California Superior Court expert panels, where she has performed evaluations for competency to stand trial and insanity defense (NGRI). She serves as an expert witness for civil and criminal cases. She currently evaluates violent offenders serving sentences in CDCR, pursuant to the Offenders with Mental Health Disorders statute (PC 2962).
Dr. Chambers is a certified Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) for the Department of Industrial Relations, evaluating individuals engaged in Workers’ Compensation claims.
She is licensed in California (PSY27159), and is available for cases in all states. She has a private psychotherapy practice in Nevada County, which is currently full.
Dr. Carol Chambers offers psychological assessments for treatment planning, to clarify diagnosis, IQ and learning disability assessment, neuropsychological screening in cases of brain injury or dementia, and to make vocational recommendations.
Dr. Carol Chambers offers psychological assessment services in the areas of personal injury, PTSD, short and long term disability, civil and criminal mental competencies, cognitive functioning (for example IQ, learning disabilities and level of comprehension), mental state at the time of offense and the compensability of psychological harm. She can also offer psychological consultation to the legal team.
